Music As Medicine

These videos were taken during Lois's one to one music therapy in May 2009.  We were playing the songs "Five foot Two" and "Smile a While".  She was playing the piano while I sang the songs.  She has taught me many new songs and has shown me the ways that she used to use music to help elders when she was my age.  When we were singing and playing she said, "I remember when I was around your age, I played the piano for an old lady who was sick  and in a wheel chair.  It made her feel better, like it does for me."  It was really sweet and reminded me that music is handed down through generations and the power of the music never fades.
